We are extremely happy to announce the results of our twenty-second In-street Monthly Thematic Contest – November, 2019.
The Street Photography Contest Theme for November, 2019 was ‘Home’.
We received lots of great images during November 01 – November 12, 2019 in our FB group. Thank you so much friends for your enthusiastic response and huge participation. We are very happy to see many images with some innovative interpretation of the monthly theme. It was a tough and exciting job for us to choose the best ones from so many great images.
It is with great pleasure that we announce our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners along with 13 other honorable mentions.
We also have a special winner this time – The Mentor’s Choice image has been chosen by our Guest Mentor Swapnil Jedhe.
So here is the result… The winner is – Indrajit Khambe !
[In-Street Review] During this MTC, we asked our members to submit pictures on the theme of “Home”. Home is an elusive, yet strong concept: it can be the place you live, someone else’s home. It can about your family, your friends, a place that you keep going to because you feel that you belong there. The interpretations are numerous and so were the submissions. We got some wonderful pictures for this theme! . However, Intrajit’s shot here was able to go beyond documenting what is his home and tap into its soul. Through his wonderful picture, he opened the door to the essence of his home and let us get a very intimate glimpse of it. What we get to see is subdued moment of (what I would assume are) his children that speaks of childhood, growing up, love and joy. The inclusion of the environment, the water body adds even more magic to this picture. It makes you want to visit his home, spend time there and reflect on life. This is a timeless picture that I hope to see in a book some day.
Second place goes to Marylise Vigneau !
Third place goes to Vinita Barretto !
And the Mentor’s Choice goes to Indrajit Khambe !
[Guest Mentor’s Review] As we all know home isn’t a place but a feeling. We usually are the happiest at home. I saw such happiness in many wonderful pictures you guys shared here. Thank you so much. Every picture shared was special. It was so difficult to choose just one.
I really like this picture made by Indrajit Khambe. I can connect with it immediately. Such a simple but lovely moment where you see and feel the family bond. It is so well and nicely balanced compose with all the elements including frames on the wall, handles and the mess. Topped with a nice lighting. Well done!
Finally, here are other 13 Honorable Mentions !
Many congratulations to all the respective photographers! Cheers!
