We received lots of great images during July 01 – July 12, 2019 in our FB group. Thank you so much friends for your enthusiastic response and huge participation. We are very happy to see many images with some innovative interpretation of the monthly theme. It was a tough and exciting job for us to choose the best ones from so many great images.
It is with great pleasure that we announce our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners along with 9 other honorable mentions.
So here is the result… The winner is – Jia Dey Choudhury !
[In-Street Review] It’s too easy to focus on beauty in the traditional sense, but there is something to be said about the macabre and the ominous that captures our attention. The ‘Dark’ is fascinating too. When we decided to go ahead with this theme ‘Dark’, we wanted to divert our attention from the regular to the unexpected and wanted to be shocked in terms of the seeing , believing, countouring, restructuring etc… basically looking at a shift from what all that have been generally fed to us thru the regular narratives of Dark. Therefore, the entire onus was on the artist and her/his mastery in seeing differently. This image, hauntingly dark, has actually been created by including two rain drops, hanging from a window grill against a dark background. Simple, yet so grotesquely frightening at first sight. It conjures up images in your mind and then dashes them to the ground when you realize what this is. To be able to see something like this requires great observation, practice and an aesthetically aware mind. Brilliantly seen, we instantly fell in love with the image. Many congratulations Jia Dey Chaudhury.
Second place goes to Rahuł Deý !
Third place goes to Snehasish Bodhak !
Finally, here are other 9 Honorable Mentions !
Many congratulations to all the respective photographers! Cheers!
