We also have a special winner this time – The Mentor’s Choice image has been chosen by our Guest Mentor Aniruddha Guha Sarkar.
So here is the result… The winner is – Subhabrata Roy !

December, 2019 Monthly Thematic Contest 1st Place Winner
[In-Street Review] One way of seeing photography is about freezing a moment in time. From then on, the picture becomes a record of our time, our era. Some of the strongest photographs are ones that give us glimpses of an era, pictures that can give us clues on how we were living. Subhabrata Roy’s picture is a wonderful example of such shots: a picture that merges tradition and our modern “smartphone-filled” times and shows us how we are evolving as a society. This is a picture that will stand the test of time.
Second place goes to Sanghamitra Bhattacharya !

December, 2019 Monthly Thematic Contest 2nd Place Winner
Third place goes to Marylise Vigneau !

December, 2019 Monthly Thematic Contest 3rd Place Winner
And the Mentor’s Choice goes to Arindam Thokder !

December, 2019 Monthly Thematic Contest Mentor’s Choice Winner
[Guest Mentor’s Review] To pass the test of time, even a successful street photo requires the right proportion of design, information and emotion – this MTC theme demands more of information and emotion and therefore, details become more important. It has also been seen that images that lives through ages often speaks softly, through every pixel, instead of only one part of it shouting loudly for attention. While there were at least three images which were candidates for ‘Guest Mentor Choice Winner’, this particular image by Arindam Thokder kept talking to me. This recreates the world of 1970s through every character, every object (almost, except the laptop) and every gesture. So effortlessly the image on the laptop connects with the typewriter, the gazes reveal the state of our public services and so on !! But the laptop suddenly tells us that it is not 1970s, but this is happening in our age !! The image seems thematically layered to me and the inner layer gives us the valuable information how the 1970s still lives on in our small towns and state of our public services !! My vote for the ‘Guest Mentor Choice Winner’ goes therefore to the attached image of Arindam Thoker.
Finally, here are other 7 Honorable Mentions !
Many congratulations to all the respective photographers! Cheers!
